Eminem Sues Facebook Over Unauthorised Song Usage

Eminem's song publishing company is suing Facebook and an ad agency. They have filed a federal lawsuit in Detroit, claiming that the social networking giant used one of his songs without permission.

According to Billboard. The company alleges that Eminem's 2000 song 'Under the Influence' was used in a 30-second Facebook advert last month without copyright clearance, reports
The advert was broadcast online during a webcast by Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg, where he announced the new Facebook Home for Android phones.

New Movie: "IFUNANYA" Starring Chika Ike, Bryan Okwara & Others

On the 19th May 2013, in Lagos, the movie ‘Ifunanya‘ was launched at the exclusive Cafe Vanessa, in Victoria Island, Lagos. The movie which was produced by Serah Donald and Theresa Dickson, a fast rising actress, also starred Chika Ike, Ebele Okaro, Paul Sambo, Bryan Okwara, Theresa Dickson and many others. It was directed by Serah Donald.

 The event which was sponsored by Theresa Dickson was hosted by Bryan Okwara. Those present at the occasion included Uti Nwachukwu, Paul Sambo, Lelee Byoma, Bola Aduwo of Nollywoodaccess, Meg Otanwa, Grace Johnson, Diana Yekini and many others. Enjoy the lovely pics from the event.

UNN Mourns Prof. Chinua Achebe

I saw the banner three days ago, I didn't actually understand what will be happening whether there was gonna be an event or not till yesterday when I went for my lectures and found out it was lecture free day :D even though one man still fixed a class :(

After the class I was headed home when I heard some group of people singing some gyration song the song was coming from staff club direction. I waited to see them, it was some facutly of arts student on black and black attire running around the school with Chinua Achebe's portrait and singing and "crying" Hmm Interesting...

There was another event organised for him at New arts theatre, most school staff where there till around 11pm yesterday. I don't have details of that one yet :(, I'm not a staff.

 Meanwhile Achebe's body arrived from Boston, Massachusetts to Abuja, Nigeria yesterday.. See photos  when you continue

Mandela’s Daughters To Sue Him Over Rights To Property

NELSON Mandela’s daughters are suing him for the rights to his artworks and control of his millions, it has been reported. 

According to the Star on Monday, Zenani and Makaziwe Mandela intended fighting an order of Johannesburg High Court in April 2004, which gave Mandela the right to instruct Ismail Ayob, his then lawyer, to stop managing his financial, personal and legal affairs.
The order also barred Ayob from selling any of Mandela’s artworks.

Police arrests former Big Brother Africa (BBA) Winner Wendall for $25,000 Fraud

According to Africa Review Zimbabwean police have arrested former Big Brother Africa (BBA) winner Wendall Parson on fraud allegations involving $25,000 in car insurance.

Police spokesperson Superintendent Andrew Phiri on Sunday said Parson was arrested on Friday.

He is accused of forging documents that he used to claim insurance for his Ford Ranger vehicle that was involved in an accident on March 16.

FAKE DRUGS ALERT: 'My Pikin' Makers Jailed

Two officials from the company which made the 'My Pikin' syrup that caused the deaths of at least 80 children have been sentenced to seven years in prison.

The company, Barewa Pharmaceutical Company Ltd had produced the adulterated teething medicine which was found to contain engine coolant after babies started dying after taking the drug in 2008.
It caused the babies' kidneys to fail.

Over 200 Year Old Tree Falls In Imo State & Kills 31, Injures Many

Don't you think this is spiritual? It may sound funny, weird and diabolic to the ears of some people but I really think it is, A tree which have existed over 200 years. There was a similar case last year in Nsukka, Ugwuoye to be precise, A village wanted to cut down an elderly tree and after making some spiritual consultation, they said the tree is asking for a head... I'm sure in by now you are asking how can a tree talk or what will a tree do with a head, or how can a tree want a head?

My dear that's the same question I asked. It was a serious matter though, they had to Invite pastors and Strong men of God to come and Pray even traditionalist. 

This one which claimed over 31 persons happened at Umudagu, Mbieri community in Mbaitoli council area of Imo state. Eye witness said the tree fell around 8pm, on thursday night during a rainstorm and about 8 people were injured.

This Man Destroyed His Car Worth N67 Million Because He Was Angry

A man in China hired three people to destroy his Maserati worth almost half a million dollars -- because he was angry with the car dealer last Tuesday. The owner, identified only as Wang, paid the men to trash his $423,000 Maserati Quattroporte, worth N66.8million naira at the Qingdao International Auto Show.

According to Car News China, Wang claimed the dealer had replaced faulty parts in his vehicle with used parts; he also accused both the dealer and an insurance company of fraud. The men hired to decimate the Maserati used sledgehammers to batter the windows and body. They wrecked the flashy vehicle in front of hordes of press and bystanders gathered outside the Auto Show
