It is sad for the people of the Nigerian broadcasting community as they’ve been thrown into mourning with the shocking demise of one of their own, Kirk Anthony Derrick, Programme Director of Smooth FM. Kirk reportedly collapsed last night after his shift. He has been confirmed dead.
Kirk will be sorely missed for his invaluable contributions to the radio station while he was there. Kirk was born in Jamaica and had already made a home and friends for himself before his untimely death. We mourn his loss.
