The fledging actress cum producer, who recently premiered her latest movie, Damage has gradually moved to the front rows in Nollywood with a string of successful flicks and applause from both fans and pundits.
In a recent chat, the self-confessed daring actress spoke on a wide range of issues, especially those germane to Nollywood and her alleged romance with super Eagles star, Ikechukwu Uche.
“Have you seen or heard anywhere that I admitted I was dating him?” She defends with traces of anger in her voice. “I will rather let it remain that way; uncommented. It is one of those things that I will never comment on. Ever; like never with capital N.E.V.E.R. The last time I checked, it’s still my life, even though I can’t stop people from writing stuff about me because if I want to stop that, I will stop being in their faces.” she affirms.
For a star actress of her stature to get a husband, Jombo knows she has to come down from her high horse or from her Olympian heights of pride.
“I don’t begrudge people but I have a right to choose the things to tell and things not to. This is one of the things I don’t wish to tell.”
I have a B.Sc. in Mathematics Statistics, a Post Graduate Degree in Computer Programming and I’m looking at doing my Masters. I am a supporter of education in life; self-education inclusive. It is very important,” she discloses.
Lately, the Abiriba-born Abia State star actress who breezed into Tinsel town in 1999, on the set of Visa to Hell went out of circulation and many would wonder with one hand akimbo: “I would say both as a script writer and as an actress, the movie that redirected my career was ‘Games Men Play’. It was after that people started looking at me in a different light.
I was no longer type-cast as ‘the brat’ or’ the bitch’ and it was also the first time that I played the role of a housewife. It kind of just balanced it up.
She continues “It’s coming out soon. It is a project that was born out of the desire to start to do the kind of movie that an ordinary person will relate to. The ‘Holding Hope’ story was stolen from three lives. One of them I met personally, it is the merging of a story that I and Emem Isong had which we infused together.”
What about the on-going boom, gloom and doom in the country? “I would say that’s not who we are as a people. We are not a self-destructive people. It’s not our culture.”
Her foray into stardom was indeed a big surprise to her “It was by accident; I was in the right place at the right time. I went to deliver a letter at an office and there was an audition going on there. I was to be speaking for someone who was there for an audition, I eventually read a script and left there that day with a role.” she says.

it look like jombo had to come up with a story to cover the shame of how she was left in the cold. seeing that uche ike settled so fast with a much prettier new yorker, oh wait.....the story says that ike and his new love ruth okoro have been dating for a while, but still maybe jombe had to say something to cover up. im just saying. is even harder when she know that the guy dumped her for a much better looking girl and no girl want that. again im just saying.....God will give you your own man. Good luck to ike and please stick to this one this time. it will be a shame if you are on the news again with a new woman....e jor uche. Men can also be called prostitutes if they keep jumping from one woman to another ...
