The Federal Government has declared public holiday on Monday, 6 February to celebrate Eid -El Maulud ( the birthday of Prophet Mohammed).
Maulud Nabiyi, observed by all Muslims all over the world, is the birth of the Prophet Muhammad which holds on 12 Rabi’ al-awwal, the third month in the Islamic calendar.
Though often celebrated in low key, many Muslims regard it as an important festival where emphasis is laid on the character of the Prophet: his teaching, leadership and wisdom.
