70-year-old man, 3 others docked for amputating man
LAGOS-A 70-year- old man and three others have been arraigned before a Surulere Magistrate’s Court in Lagos for alleged cutting off the hand and leg of one Tajudeen Ogunbadejo with a machete.
Oladun Mannaseh, 70; Dick Ike, 61; Edike Emeka, 49 and Rafiu Olorunmbe, 35, were charged on a two-count charge of conspiracy and causing grievous body harm.
It was gathered that Ogunbadejo’s hand and leg were cut off after an argument between him and the accused persons.
According to the prosecutor, Sgt. Idowu Onime, the accused committed the offence on October 19, 2011 at 28, Shobadu, St., Sari-Iganmu, Lagos, adding: “The offences contravened Sections 338 and 516 of the Criminal code, Laws of Lagos State.”
The accused persons pleaded not guilty to the charge and were admitted to bail in the sum of N50,000 each with one surety each in like sum.
