It's official: Nicki Minaj did not endorse Mitt Romney in a recent rap.

The flamboyant rapper confirmed Monday [Sep 10] on Twitter that she was taking literary license when she referenced the Republican nominee for president. Some took her words to mean she was backing President Barack Obama's opponent.

Not Obama, though, who told radio station WPYO-FM in Orlando, Fla., that he didn't think it was a Romney plug, adding: "She likes to play different characters”.

Beautify Your Premises Or Go To Jail - Lagos State Govt

                       
The Lagos State Government on Tuesday [Sep 11] said it was now mandatory for occupiers of houses in the state to beautify the perimeter areas of their buildings.


The government said a violation of this would attract N250, 000 or the amount the state would incur if it decides to carry out the beautification, or six months imprisonment or other non-custodian sentences.

Taliban Launches Operation to Kidnap or Kill Prince Harry

                                               


The Taliban is focusing all of its efforts on kidnapping or killing Prince Harry, a spokesman for the militant group said today.
The royal, who is a captain in the British Army Air Corps, recently arrived in Afghanistan to begin his second tour of duty as co-pilot of an Apache attack helicopter. He is said to be stationed at Camp Bastion, located in the infamous opium-rich province of Helmand.

No fewer than four persons lost their lives on Friday night in a road accident involving three vehicles along the Enugu – Onitsha Expressway, which has remained a deathtrap for travelers for the past two years.

Wife of the founder of Old Path Revival Commission, Enugu, Rev. Mrs. Maria Itiowe, and her daughter, Glory, were among the victims of the crash. Other victims were identified as Ebere Iroham also of the same church and one Dennis Ogwu, a driver of a Toyota sports utility vehicle, SUV, with registration number LV 544 AAA, one of the vehicles involved in the accident.

Armed robbers strike in Lagos-Kill policemen,seven others

                             
Armed robbers went on the rampage this afternoon in Lagos and killed several people including two policemen inside their patrol vehicle.

According to an eyewitness who gave his name as Tayo Adeyeri, the robbers, who drove in two SUVs, a Toyota Prado and Armada, stormed several parts of Lagos, including a bureau de change at Agege, Lagos, southwest Nigeria, where they shot some currency changers and carted away two bags containing local and foreign currencies running into millions.

N5000 Note Will Kill Production – Obasanjo

         
Former President Olusegun Obasanjo on Thursday said the introduction of the N5,000 note would kill production and affect small businesses negatively.

Obasanjo, who spoke at a roundtable advocacy forum organised by the Institute of Directors, Nigeria, in Lagos, said the way the Governor, Central Bank of Nigeria, Mr. Lamido Sanusi, was fighting inflation by removing money from circulation was improper.

While speaking on the cost of doing business in the country, Obasanjo called on stakeholders and government agencies to rise up to the challenge.
