Importation Of Private Jets Suspended By Federal Government

Bad News for Nigerian billionaires planning to buy private jets as The Federal Government has suspended the importation of private air planes, helicopters and other lighter aircraft into the country.

According to the Special Assistant (Media) to the Minister of Aviation, Mr. Joe Obi;

”The domestic airlines are free to bring in their normal passenger planes. But the suspension only affects private jets. The government is trying to work on a new policy for the private jet.
“You will agree with me that the current policy on private jets is old, and there is a need to renew it.  Pending that renewal, all applications for importation for now will have to hold on.

  1. The question is where and how do this Nigerians generate the funds to acquire these toys. By using the tool of banning, Government has only increased the appetite of these folks who will now corrupt officials issuing licenses to backdate date of purchase. All government needed to do is bring out a new policy to replace the old one and achieve the set target. Remember the currency exchange of the military era. Suspension is a failed policy on arrival.
