On Sunday 27th May 2012, the Premiere of 'Silver Lining'; the short film on Autism in the quiet surburb of Ikoyi, Lagos. It was a  beautiful evening of fun, laughter, tears, sober reflection and much hope as guests were treated to a lovely movie produced by Emem Isong and Uduak Oguamanam for the Patrick Speech and Languages Centre.

Wait, permit me to make mouth a little bit, that am the one that designed the cover/poster of this film, hehehe. Continue for more pictures and details

Patrick Speech and Languages Centre is a unique centre for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder, Asperger Syndrome and other related developmental disabilities.
Proprietress of the Centre, Mrs Dotun Akande, could not hide her delight at the successful turn out at the event. 'I'm thankful to God for making this event possible. This marks a number of firsts for us; the first time we are premiering a film in conjunction with my good friends in Nollywood (Royal Arts) and the first time a film has been shot on the subject of Autism in Nigeria. It is my hope that it brings awareness about the condition in Nigeria'. The film stars Monalisa Chinda, Whoba Ogo, Obiora Olife etc.  It was directed by Tom Robson.  On the film, Emem has this to say; 'This is our own way of giving back to society and what better way to do that, than to do so to those that need that extra push. Shooting the film on autism  changed all of us. It was an eye-opener. We believe through this movie, more people will be aware of this condition and help support the organisation. They are doing a tremendous job'.  Those present at the event were people from the corporate world, NGO's, as well as from the film industry Nollywood.  Enjoy red carpet photos.
