Pleading guilty last year to the charges against him but pleading for leniency a few days ago via his lawyer who argued that his life sentencing was unconstitutional because he physically didn’t hurt anyone and the crime never happened; he was nevertheless sentenced to life imprisonment today
It would be recalled that Abdulmutallab had told FBI that the bomb in his underwear was a “blessed weapon” to avenge poorly treated Muslims around the world.
His sentence is lenient compared to what he intended for over 300 passengers
