Uche Jombo wins Best Actress of the Year

Star actress Uche Jombo won Best Actress of the Year at the Exquisite Lady of the Year (ELOY) Awards on Sunday (October 23, 2011). She won the award for her role in the movie Damage. Also nominated for the award were Omoni Oboli (Anchor Baby), Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde (Private Storm), Genevieve Nnaji (Tango with Me), Ini Edo (Inale), Stella Damasus (Bent Arrows), and Monalisa Chinda (Kiss & Tell).



The award ceremony took place at The Incubator, Victoria Island (Lagos, Nigeria). The ELOY Awards was started in 2009. It is the brainchild of Tewa Onasanya, publisher of Exquisite Magazine. Uche Jombo could not attend the event, as she is currently in the United States, where she has been taking her movie, Damage, on tour. She has however, been informed of her win, and has since been receiving congratulatory messages from friends and fans.
