WAEC releases May/June results

                             

Friday released the results of the May/June 2012 West African Senior School Certificate Examination.

The candidates for this year’s examination performed better than their counterparts in the last three years.

A total of 649,156 candidates representing 38.81 per cent of the total candidates that sat for the examination this year obtained credits in five subjects and above, including English Language and Mathematics.

Gay Lecturer, arrested for Harassing male Student at the Ahmadu Bello University

                                            
A lecturer at the Department of Public administration at the Ahmadu Bello University Zaria, Dr Gambo Abdul, has been arrested for allegedly harassing a male student Abubakar Abdulkareem into being his gay partner.
It was gathered that the student had severally rebuffed the advances of the lecturer who wanted him to be his gay partner but became agitated when the lecturer threatened failure if he refused to succumb.

Davido Beats up a taxi driver - The real story - Davido reported to the police

A taxi driver, Femi Ajibola has reported fast rising pop singer, Davido to the Police for allegedly assaulting him and seizing his car. According to his report as contained in the Crime Digest column of  PUNCH newspaper, the incident occurred on Sunday July 1, 2012 at about 5:30pm after he had received a phone call from Susie, one of his customers to come convey her and her friends to Beni Apartments, V.I.

                                 
The lady introduced her as Susie. She called me to come and pick her and her friend.

They told me to come pick them up at Mobolaji Estate near Lekki Second Roundabout. Later, I took them to a hotel at Lekki Phase I to meet one of their friends. From there we left for Beni Apartment in Victoria Island’.waiting for the ladies  at the gate of the hotel, he saw his clients running towards his car, being chased by Davido and four of his bouncers

Tragic Accident: 40-foot container crushes car on Anthony bridge; kills three

                               

The man you see in the photo here, plus two others in a Toyota Avalon car with registration number SQ 32 AAA, were killed around 7pm on Friday August 3rd on the Anthony Bridge, Oshodi-Apapa Expressway, after a truck hauling a 40-foot container suddenly slipped off the flat-bed and fell on their car

The driver of the Toyota and another man in the car died instantly, but not the one in the photo. He called for help for over an hour but the people around had no means to lift the container off the car. Even LASEMA couldn’t help because the container was too heavy. The man eventually died.

Finally, four hours after the accident, a crane was brought to lift the container off the mangled car. The bodies of the three men were taken to Gbagada General Hospital.

15-Year-Old Boy Killed By Sister-In-Law For Allegedly Stealing N50 To Buy Gala

                                                   
A fifteen year-old boy simply known as Senbou had been reportedly killed by his sister-in-law for allegedly stealing money to buy a N50 Gala Sausage. Senbou, who was living with his elder brother and wife, was allegedly beaten to death by the sister-in-law simply identified as Iya Anu. It was learnt that the suspect had allegedly attacked the deceased for allegedly stealing her money to buy the sausage.

Federal Government Announces Plans to Reintroduce Toll Gates on ALL Federal Roads

                                 
The Chairman of the Federal Road Maintenance Agency, Ezekiel Adeniji, has said that the Federal Government will soon reintroduce tollgates to federal roads across the country. Tollgates were scrapped by former President of Nigeria, Olusegun Obasanjo during his tenure. However, since his exit in 2007, there has been reports that the government was considering the return of tollgates to federal roads.

FORMER President Ibrahim Babangida, yesterday, slammed elder-statesman Chief Edwin Clark over his allegation that some Northern leaders including him, Babangida, were soft on the Boko Haram insurgency.

An eight-day-old  baby has been allegedly killed for ritual purposes by her 24-years-old step-father in Delta State. The suspect who has confessed to the crime said he was directed to do it by a spiritualist based in Ghana.

The baby’s mother reported the incident to the police saying the suspect used a cutlass to split the young baby open and make away with her internal organs.
