Dele Giwa’s mother to be buried on February 9th


The late Elekia Giwa will be buried on February 9.
The family of late Dele Giwa has fixed February 9 as the “tentative” date for the burial of their mother, Elekia Giwa.
Ms. Giwa, 87, passed away at about 5 a.m. on Tuesday after a brief illness at a hospital in Ikorodu, Lagos.
“The date is a tentative one but she will be buried in Edo State,” Ronke Aboaba, the last child of the deceased, said

President Goodluck Jonathan has again lashed out at ex-President Olusegun Obasanjo, describing him as a confused man unstable in his views regarding government’s handing of the protracted Boko Haram insurgency.

Mr. Jonathan, who spoke through his spokesperson, Reuben Abati, was reacting to Mr.  Obasanjo’s comment in a CNN  interview that the president had been deploying excessive force and exploring little or no dialogue in solving the Boko Haram problem.

Morning everyone, Little brain teaser for y'all Winner gets a surprise from me :)

If I saw a Movie for 97K and wanted to buy it, took 50k from dad and 50k from mum making it a 100k, after buying I have 3k left. I gave them 1k each and have 1k all to myself now owing them 49k 49k, that's 98k plus the 1k I have that's 99k altogether.. What happened to the remaining 1k that will make it a 100k??

University Of Benin Unveils ‘Cure’ For HIV/AIDS

A cure for Human Immunodeficiency Virus, HIV, and Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome, AIDS, has been discovered, a Professor at the University of Benin said on Tuesday.
Isaiah Ibeh, the Dean of the School of Basic Medical Science of the University, said in Benin that the herbal drug has undergone “series of successful tests”.

“We are at the threshold of making history, in the sense that we seem to have with us something that will permanently take care of what over time seems to have defied all solutions.

60 suspected oil thieves arrested in Lagos

Officials of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDCs, have arrested 60 persons suspected of siphoning petrol from oil pipeline at Majidun area of Ikorodu, Lagos, Southwest Nigeria.
Tapping fuel illegally from pipelines is common at Majidun, a suburb of Lagos, where villagers specialize in oil bunkering, raking in millions of naira from the illegal deal.

Man Sets 6 Co-Workers On Fire

A Nigerian factory worker at Amuwo Odofin, Moses Ayogu,  has been arrested by the police in Lagos State, for allegedly setting six of  his colleagues on fire,  leading to the death of two of them and seriously injuring  four others, now on admission  in the hospital.

According to the police prosecutor, the two victims who died in the fire attack are Lawrence Onyejekwe and John Omeren while four others, Chijioke Anayo, Titus Terkuve, Hope Effiong and Emmanuel Philip were badly burnt.

Nigeria’s Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arrested two undergraduate internet scammers and six other fraudsters at the upscale 1004 Housing Estate, Victoria Island, Lagos.

One of the undergraduates, Hope Olusegun, a 25 year-old indigene of Okene, Kogi State, claims to be a student of Computer Science at the Kuala Lumpur Metropolitan University, Malaysia.
He was arrested by operatives of EFCC over allegations of fraud and internet scam.
A petition by a concerned group alerted the Commission about the activities of Olusegun and his co-travelers at the elite 1004 Housing Estate where the fraudsters engaged in fraudulent activities of obtaining money by false pretences and forgery.
