President Jonathan Assures Nigerians “2013 Will Be A Better Year”

The outgoing year of 2012 has been a rather tough one for Nigerians especially as the nation grappled with increasing wave of insecurity, uncertainty, harsh economic environment and natural disasters.

Also for the leadership of the country, it has been one of unprecedented challenges and political upheavals here and there but President Goodluck Jonathan, yesterday reassured Nigerians that the country will have a better outing in 2013, as his government was determined to bring desired changes on security, power, aviation and other areas of national life.

EFCC arrests Jigawa governor’s son with $50,000 at the Kano International Airport

Mr Aminu, son of Governor Sule Lamido of Jigawa State was arrested at the Kano International Airport by operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission at the Kano International Airport

Undisclosed sum of $40,000 was found on the Governor’s son as he prepared to board an Egypt bound flight. Sources close to the Commission said that Mr. Lamido was flagged after he declared $10,000 in his possession to agents of the Nigerian customs at the airport. Further checks by the agents revealed that he had an additional $40,000 which he did not declare.

Nelson Mandela Has Lung Infection – South African Govt

South Africa’s first black President Nelson Mandela has a lung infection but is responding to treatment, South African government said Tuesday, as the revered anti-apartheid icon spent his fourth day in hospital.
