Younger Brother Of President Jonathan Dies At Aso Rock Clinic – Sahara Reporters

President Goodluck Jonathan’s younger brother Meni Jonathan has died at the Aso Rock clinic Abuja today.

Medical sources told SaharaReporters that Mr. Meni was flown in from Bayelsa last week to receive medical treatment at the Villa. The cause of death has not been revealed.

WORLD TOILET DAY: 34millon Nigerians practise open defecation

As Nigeria joined the rest of the world to mark this year’s World Toilet Day, a joint UNICEF and World Health Organisation 2012 report has revealed that estimated 34 million Nigerians practice open defecation.
According to the report, Nigeria is amongst top five countries in the world with largest number of people defecating in the open.

University of Abuja Shut Down till further notice

Following Students’ Protest over the Non-accreditation of some CoursesFor the second time this year, authorities of the University of Abuja have shut down the institution following students’ protest. Despite the fact that second semester examination was already underway, the students’ protest which led to major roads and huge traffic congestion resulted in the institution being shut down.

 Mrs. Jane Ugwu, a Senior Special Adviser to Governor Sullivan Chime of Enugu State, died of food poisoning, family sources said on Sunday.

Ugwu passed on in the wee hours of Thursday moments after a meal she allegedly took at a public function in Nsukka area of the state.

America proved its Bieber Fever was strong: The teen singer dominated the American Music Awards on Sunday night. Bieber's wins included the show's top award, artist of the year.

His mom joined him onstage as he collected the trophy, beating out Rihanna, Maroon 5, Katy Perry and Drake. "I wanted to thank you for always believing in me," Bieber said, looking to his mom.

The 18-year-old also won the honor in 2010. He said it's "hard growing up with everyone watching me" and asked that people continue to believe in him. Bieber and Nicki Minaj performed together – and separately – at the AMAs, and were both multiple winners.
