Cameroon Did No Wrong Flooding Nigeria – FG Official

                                     

The waters from the dam caused massive flooding in various states across Nigeria, killing hundreds of people and displacing hundreds of thousands.

The Director of Dam Services at the Federal Ministry of Water Resources, Emmanuel Adanu, said the Cameroonian authorities did nothing wrong when they released excess water from Lagdo dam and caused massive flooding in communities along River Benue banks in Nigeria.

Veteran Gospel Singer Patty Obasi is dead

                                                       
Gospel singer Patty Obasi has passed away. Obasi who had been battling a critical ailment – kidney failure for over a year had been recommended for a transplant but couldn’t travel because of lack of funds. NET gathered that Obasi need not less than N10m to replace his two failed kidneys in India.

He died in his Enugu residence on Friday, October 26, 2012, after he reportedly slipped into unconsciousness.

 ‘Brother died at his house this morning and his body had been deposited in the mortuary. He could not go for the kidney transplant in India as recommended by his doctor at the University of Nigeria Teaching Hospital, UNTH, Enugu’, his sister told

UPDATE on Kaduna Bomb Blast; kills three, injures others

                                        
Just when Nigerians thought it was going to be a violence-free Sallah weekend, a bomb blast has rocked Ungwar Yero in the Nigerian city of Kaduna.
It happened around 8.30 a.m today at St. Rita catholic Church.
Witnesses said a suicide bomber had rammed a car loaded with bomb into the church.
One witness confirmed three members of the church dead along with the suicide bomber. His shattered body was carried away in a pick up van.

FORBES: Elizabeth Taylor Overtakes Michael Jackson As Top-Earning Dead Celebrity

Screen legend Taylor, who died last year at age 79, has taken the Number 1 spot on Forbes' annual list of Top-Earning Dead Celebrities away from "Thriller" singer Jackson, who topped the list the previous two years.
According to Forbes, Taylor earned $210 million last year. The majority of that came from an auction of the actress' possessions at Christie's, which raked in $184 million. But there's also revenue from Taylor's signature perfume White Diamonds, which generated $75 million in retail earnings in 2011.
