Nicki Minaj and Rihanna lead the nominations for the 2012 American Music Awards (AMAs).

The two singers are each in the running for four awards, with Drake, Justin Bieber, Maroon 5, One Direction and Usher following narrowly behind with three nods apiece. Justin, Rihanna, Maroon 5, Drake and Katy Perry will battle it out for the coveted Artist of the Year prize, while J. Cole, fun., Gotye, Carly Rae Jepsen and One Direction are all up for New Artist of the Year.

The EME crew have shot the fourth consecutive video off their first ever compilation album ‘Empire State of Mind‘.

The song titled ‘Su mo mi’ features Banky W, Skales and Shaydee. The EME crew once again hooked up with Clarence Peters who shot the crew’s first video – ‘Baddest boy‘. It also features other EME acts Niyola and DJ Xclusive.

Banky posted pictures from the shoot on his Instagram page. Wizkid however doesn’t pop up in any of the photos, will he feature in the video? We anticipate!

CBN Bans Banks From Lending To Otedola, Babalakin, Dantata, & 416 Others (See Full List)

                                          

Central Bank of Nigeria last week released 419 names of individuals and businesses, and State governments that have been banned by any bank operating in Nigeria from lending to.

As expected, “King of bad debts” Femi Otedola tops the list with N192 billion (wonders if he ever sleeps), followed by Dantata, and many others.
Many other supposedly rich Nigerians made the list in flying colors with debt profiles ranging from N4 billion to N160 billion.

Rihanna has been named the number one pop artist of the decade by Billboard.com. The 'Diamonds' hitmaker has been listed at number one on the Billboard.com Top 100 Pop Song Artists from 1992-2012.

They wrote:
"Having first arrived on Pop Songs only since 2005, Rihanna's accomplishments are exceptional".

"She's reigned with 'Umbrella' and shined with 'Diamonds', the latter of which debuts this week".

Billboard.com listed the 24-year-old singer's achievements of having 34 chart appearances, the most top 10s with 21 songs and 9 no.1s which she shared with no.6 holder Katy Perry.

Following Rihanna was Pink at number two, Britney Spears at three, Kelly Clarkson at four and Mariah Carey rounding it off at number five.

OMG: PHOTOS OF THE DAY: millions build human towers in Spain (MUST SEE PHOTOS)

      

THOUSANDS of spectators packed into an old bull ring in Spain to watch as teams of hundreds of people built incredible human towers for the 24th Tarragona Castells Competition.

The Catalan tradition of creating these towers is believed to date back to the 18th century and is performed by dance groups using precise techniques. The tower builders are called Castellers from the Catalan word for castle and each individual dance team is known as a Colla.
The annual competition saw about 30 groups of Castellers construct elaborate human towers formed by up to 400 individuals, though most stand at the base to support the higher up human tiers.

Nigerian actress Tonto Dike got an unexpected shock on Tuesday, October 2, 2012, after her plan to release one of her singles soon was met by insults and disdain on twitter.

The conversation soon turned into a heated argument, which became a trending topic on the social network.
 The drama began after Dike made her announcement in what was considered by some as an ‘arrogant manner’: ‘Gettin HI on ma own SONG***Loverz I cnt wait2 SHARE HI n ITZ OVA wit YA*#POKO#’, she wrote. A few people responded jokingly, advising her to be careful, citing examples of actors such as Ramsey Nouah, Genevieve Nnaji, Jim Iyke and a few others who have tried but failed in music. UNIPORT Students On Rampage In Aluu Community, burning markets houses and attacking the community members

                                         
Students of the University of Port Harcourt are attacking an area (Aluu) in Rivers State where four students were brutally murdered on Friday.
The students are reportedly on rampage, burning markets houses and attacking the community members some of who watched and filmed the horrendous killing of the students with their phones.
The community members took the laws into their hands to serve jungle justice, maybe they are been paid back with same coins.
Meanwhile the government of Rotimi Amaechi reports that some of the lynch mob and even village elders have been arrested.

Dangote donates N200 million to flood victims in Kogi

The richest man in Africa, Nigeria’s Aliko Dangote has donated N200 million to victims of flood in Nigeria’s Kogi state.

The donation is made of N50 million food items and N150 million cash, a total of $1,250,000. The donation is only a part of the assistance Dangote planned to offer the people of the state. In addition, he planned to empower 1,000 women in each of the 21 local councils in the state, for which he has set aside another N230 million. Each woman, will collect a grant of N10,000, about $65 to start petty business.

According to online reports, a baby was recently rescued, the baby survived miraculously inside a toilet filled with feces. The baby was dumped inside the toilet for unknown reasons.

wickedness runs thick in some people’s vein like blood and its rather unfortunate when their acts of evil know no age barrier.

Luckily, a good Samaritan was able to find and rescue the child from that horrible condition.
