The University of Nigeria (UNN) Nsukka has announced the release of 2012/2013 admission list. The registrar of the institution, Mr A.I Okonta disclosed that prospective students who wrote UTME and chose the school as their first and second choice should check UNN website for their names.

Armed robbers strike in Lagos-Kill policemen,seven others

                             
Armed robbers went on the rampage this afternoon in Lagos and killed several people including two policemen inside their patrol vehicle.

According to an eyewitness who gave his name as Tayo Adeyeri, the robbers, who drove in two SUVs, a Toyota Prado and Armada, stormed several parts of Lagos, including a bureau de change at Agege, Lagos, southwest Nigeria, where they shot some currency changers and carted away two bags containing local and foreign currencies running into millions.

N5000 Note Will Kill Production – Obasanjo

         
Former President Olusegun Obasanjo on Thursday said the introduction of the N5,000 note would kill production and affect small businesses negatively.

Obasanjo, who spoke at a roundtable advocacy forum organised by the Institute of Directors, Nigeria, in Lagos, said the way the Governor, Central Bank of Nigeria, Mr. Lamido Sanusi, was fighting inflation by removing money from circulation was improper.

While speaking on the cost of doing business in the country, Obasanjo called on stakeholders and government agencies to rise up to the challenge.

Job Listing Statistical Information Revealed - Lagos with more than 9,700 jobs

A statistical analysis by the Potrix Media at jobberman.com team in the past two days revealed that from all the about 21,653 listed jobs, Lagos had the most number of job listings - a whopping 45% of the total listings. The more surprising thing however was the speed at which it was increasing. In just 48 hours, there were 52 new job listings, i.e. 1.083 jobs in every hour! This was a great surprise when compared to other states. Abuja for example within that time had only ten new jobs listings followed by Rivers with 4 new job listings. So Lagos did not just have 45% of the job share, but also increased about 5 times faster than the other states! Another interesting find was that Sales and Business development was the highest demanded specialization with 5,246 job listings followed by Administration & Office Support (3,429 job listings). When analyzed by sector though, it was not too surprising to discover that the industry with the highest number of job listings was the ICT/Telecommunications Sector (2,317 listings) followed by Consulting (2,006 listings). We have prepared graphical views of our result analysis for you below based on the industry and specialization. Conclusion: If you’re currently considering a career, this analysis provides a solid foundation for your considerations. With ICT/Telecommunications leading, it is obvious that an ICT course will e.g. Computer Science will be most relevant. Also, our statistics reveals that the importance of Business Development as well as administrative skills may be understated by the society.
