The Future Awards now to hold in Port Harcourt

                            

The central working committee for The Future Awards is excited to announce that Port Harcourt – selected by UNESCO as the World Book Capital 2014 – is the official host city for The Future Awards 2012. The event will hold on 25th and 26th August in the Rivers State capital.

The actress has denied reports making the rounds that she secretly got married to a man named Alaka and moved into his Lekki home a few weeks back. What she told an Encomium reporter below:

It's not a crime to be single and it's not a crime to be married. If I chose to tie the knot, it won't be a secret. For now, I am still single but if I chose to get married, my friends will be invited. I have nothing to hide and I have done nothing wrong. I am presently away but I have been receiving calls from people who are shocked as I am at the supposed breaking news of my secrets wedding. The report is false.

Omawumi Megbele and hip-hop icon Jude ‘M.I’ Abaga have been announced as hosts for the 7th edition of The Headies - Nigeria’s biggest music honours event.

Announcing this today, executive producer Ayo Animashaun says the pair  have been selected in line with the awards’ tradition of picking talented and inspiring entertainers, to front an awards ceremony that parades some of the continent’s biggest entertainers.

WAEC releases May/June results

                             

Friday released the results of the May/June 2012 West African Senior School Certificate Examination.

The candidates for this year’s examination performed better than their counterparts in the last three years.

A total of 649,156 candidates representing 38.81 per cent of the total candidates that sat for the examination this year obtained credits in five subjects and above, including English Language and Mathematics.
