Robbers bomb banks in Ogun

            

Barely a week after the Ogun State Government read a riot act to armed robbers to desist from operating in its territories and environs, the bandits on Thursday exhibited their brutality with the bombing of five banks in Sagamu town of the state.

NEXT reports further that the robbers kick-started their operations at about 12.00pm which was heralded with sporadic gunshots to scare away people, a development which paved way for them to gain access into the banks after using dynamites.

The affected banks include Guarantee Trust Bank, Diamond Bank, Skye Bank, Intercontinental Bank and Zenith Bank, just as further findings revealed that the bandits made away with huge cash before escaping from the scene.

A few people were said to have been seriously injured during the raid, but were as at the time of this report said to have been taken to hospital for urgent medical attention. The robbers were said to be ten in number.

Dim Chukwuemeka Odimegwu Ojukwu

22 days after his 78th birthday, former Biafran leader, Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu succumbed to the cold hands of death.

The family said in a statement that their patriarch died of stroke in the Royal Berkshire Hospital, United Kingdom, in the early hours of yesterday.

The National Chairman of the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA), the platform on which Ojukwu sought to become president in 2003 and 2007, and which Board of Trustees (BoT) he headed, Chief Victor Umeh, said the former warlord, passed on at about 2.30 a.m. yesterday.

25 killed in Jos violence, get mass burial

A cross-section of the 163 alleged to have killed 25 in Barkin Ladi Local Government, Plateau State.

Twenty five people killed in the renewed violence in Barkin Ladi LGA of Plateau State were yesterday given a mass burial at Takwok village where most of them were killed on Wednesday night.

Over 500 displaced people are also seeking refuge at the Barkin Ladi town following the violence which necessitated the imposition of a curfew in the council.

Also on Friday, the Special Task Force (STF) maintaining security in the state paraded 163 suspects arrested in connection with the violence.

Lovely actress, Ini Edo is in the news again! Recently social media has been abuzz with allegations of vote rigging of the African International Film Festival (AFRIFF) by several actresses but most notably Ini.

In a hotly contested voting spree, which had Genevieve Nnaji leading initially, then finally being overtaken by Uche Jombo, Ini is said to have suddenly overtaken her with several thousand votes, leaving many very upset and angry. Allegations of vote rigging, and use of rigging software being employed, etc have been leveled against her.

There are many holes being punched in the whole AFRIFF polls. There have also been wide spread complaints in the categories such as in the Best Actor category where a London-based PR consultant said Desmond Elliot was intially said to have over 3,000 votes only for her to discover 45 minutes later that his votes had been decreased to 1,400 while another contestant Ali Nuhu's votes were inched up to 700!

Dead man wakes up after 3 days in mortuary

                                                               

Residents of Oremeji in Aradagun near Badagry, Lagos, were on Sunday thrown into shock when a man presumed dead suddenly resurrected after three days in the mortuary.

The man, simply identified as Mr Agosu, reportedly died of an undisclosed illness on Friday in a hospital and his remains were deposited at the morgue of the Badagry General Hospital.

The news of his resurrection, however, broke out on Sunday evening as members of his Mountain of Fire and Miracle (MFM) Church were preparing tents for his wake.

Conrad Murray’s Bid For New Testing Denied By Judge

A judge on Monday rejected a request for additional tests on a bottle of the anesthetic propofol deemed responsible for Michael Jackson’s death.
Attorneys for Dr. Conrad Murray, who was convicted on November 1 of involuntary manslaughter in the 2009 death of the singer, asked for tests on the vial of propofol that was found in Jackson’s bedroom on the morning he died.
But judge Michael Pastor said Murray’s defense team had months to ask for the tests and should have done so during the six week trial. Jackson, 50, was ruled to have died on June 25, 2009 from a propofol overdose and a combination of sedatives.

Lady Injected with Cement & Super Glue during a Booty enlargement Procedure

A fake cosmetic surgeon set up shop in Miami Gardens, Florida, then proceeded to inject everything but the kitchen sink into his patient's rear ends. 30-year old transgender woman, Oneal Ron Morris, is accused of injecting cement, mineral oils and fix-a-flat into the buttocks of at least one woman. He then sealed the incision with super glue. 

The not-yet-identified victim became seriously ill, and had to be hospitalized with a staph infection (MRSA) and pneumonia.
This cocktail of chemicals went into her body and caused her terrific pain," said Sgt. Bill Bamford.
 
Morris, who also injected himself with the chemicals has been arrested and charged with practicing medicine without a license and causing bodily harm. The victim in the case paid $700 for the procedure and is lucky to be alive.

‘Boko Haram bombers killed by own bombs in failed attack on JTF Hq’

ABUJA—The Joint Security Information Managers Committee set up in the wake of the Boko Haram terrorist attacks and other security challenges in the country, Monday, confirmed that all three suicide bombers who targeted the headquarters of the Joint Task Force in Maiduguri on November 4, 2011, were killed by the bombs they carried.

Addressing the media on the security situation in the country, Director of Naval Information, Navy Commodore Aliyu, said:  “The suicide bombing targeted at security personnel on that day was aborted as a result of tight security in Maiduguri by JTF and other security agencies and all the suicide bombers died in the failed attempt.”

An acclaimed Islamic fundamentalist, Ali Sanda Umar Konduga, currently detained by the State Security Service (SSS), said yesterday that a certain Senator and some politicians in the North are behind Boko Haram.

The alleged sect’s spokesman was paraded by the SSS in Abuja. He said that he was named Usman Al-Zawahiri to conceal his identity for security reasons.
