DNA: Terry G not the father of 3 year-old daughter

Music producer and singer, Gabriel Amanyi popularly known as Terry G is in a paternity scandal as you read this. Though a lot of people might not know Terry G fathers a child with his long-time girlfriend who got pregnant for him three years ago. The singer who wasn’t ready for marriage agreed to take custody of the child when a lot of pressures came from his girlfriend’s family. Due to his busy schedules, he pledged to take care of the child soon as the baby is born. Lo and behold, he stood by his words.

It was indeed a sad incident this morning on the Island as two young ladies and a guy were returning back from a night of fun at an undisclosed club before they met their sudden death. We learnt their car was involved in a ghastly auto crash which ended their lives.

I’m so close to tears, Lord have mercy! Can’t believe these pretty young girls are gone and that young guy too. Lord please keep us save. Amen.

HEAVY D TO BE BURIED AT HISTORIC CHURCH, NOV 18

A private funeral of Late rap veteran Heavy D (real name Dwight Arrington Myers) has been announced to take place at a historic black Baptist church in a northern residential district of New York City on Friday, November, 2011. The announcement was made by Grace Baptist Church of Mount Vernon, founded in 1888. As reported earlier, the rapper passed away on Tuesday, November 8, 2011 at a Los Angeles hospital. He passed away at the age of 44 years.

Another bomb blast injures four in Bauchi!!!

A roadside bomb exploded in the city of Bauchi, injuring four people, the latest in a series of attacks to hit the region in recent months, police said Saturday.

“There was a bomb blast in Wuntin-dada suburb of the city in which four people were injured,” Bauchi State police spokesman Mohammed Barau told AFP.

Professor Chinua Achebe Rejects National Honour Offer By President Jonathan

Renowned Nigerian literary icon, Professor Chinua Achebe, has for the second time in seven years rejected an offer of a National Honor by the Nigerian government.

Professor Achebe, globally recognized as one of the world’s most outstanding novelists and intellectuals, rejected the “national honor” in a terse statement.In a statement today, he said:
“The reasons for rejecting the offer when it was first made have not been addressed let alone solved. It is inappropriate to offer it again to me. I must therefore regretfully decline the offer again.”In 2004, in the letter in which he rejected the same honor, Achebe sent to President Olusegun Obasanjo the following, longer letter:

"I write this letter with a very heavy heart. For some time now I have watched events in Nigeria with alarm and dismay. I have watched particularly the chaos in my own state of Anambra where a small clique of renegades, openly boasting its connections in high places, seems determined to turn my homeland into a bankrupt and lawless fiefdom.

IBB undergoes surgery in Germany

A former military president, General Ibrahim Baban-gida, is ill and on admission at a German hospital.

Babangida, who left the country a few weeks ago for what was reported to be a routine medical check-up, was said to have been indisposed for quite some time now.

A source close to the hospital in Germany said the former president, who had a successful operation for an undisclosed ailment, was initially in critical condition a few minutes after the operation, but had since stabilised.

However, a source close to his family told the Nigerian Tribune that he spoke with Babangida by phone on his sick bed in Germany at about 4.10 p.m. (Nigerian time) on Thursday and that there was no cause for anxiety over his health.

All efforts to get through to his media aide, Mr Kassim Afegbua, were unsuccessful, as he neither responded to calls nor to the text message sent to him.

Girl 19,dies while trying to commit abortion.

The KUNTANASE police have mounted a search for the arrest of Bright Appiah, a primary three teacher of Konkoma D/A primary, for his alleged role in the death of an SHS three Business student, Theresa Boakye.

Appiah reportedly impregnated the girl and later administered a substance believed to be a herbal concoction to terminate the pregnancy, resulting in her premature death.

Theresa Boakye, 19, was a native of Asisiriwa, a farming community in the Bosomtwe District of the Ashanti region, and a student of Beposo SHS in the same district.

Film actor, Jim Iyke, 35, was on Thursday arraigned before an Abuja Chief Magistrates' Courtcharged with N15 million fraud.

The Police Prosecutor, Mr Chijoke Okezie, told the court that on Aug. 8, Habiba Abubakar wrote a petition to the Inspector General of Police (IG) to investigate the fraud.

He said that investigation into the case revealed that the accused, a resident of Sunnyville Estate, Abuja, deceived Abubakar into acquiring 15 per cent equity shares to the tune of N15 million from his company, Untamed Records Ltd.

VETERAN ACTOR,ENEBELI ELEBUWA STRUCK BY SUDDEN STROKE

These are definitely not the best of times for veteran actor, Enebeli Elebuwa who has been down with stroke for almost a month now.
