Armed Robbers Invade Olabisi Onabanjo University

Armed robbers this morning invaded the Olabisi Onabanjo University in Ogun state, robbing several people and killing at least one person.

The robbers, who operated in two buses and a car, targeted Oceanic bank, other banks and businesses in the University premises. They operated for almost an hour and left several people injured before they left.

Man Kept 29 Dead Bodies at Home

Moscow: Russian police discovered 29 mummies at the home of a well-known local historian who dug the bodies up from cemeteries and dressed them in clothes scavenged from graves, they said Monday.

A police video of the man’s apartment in the Volga River city of Nizhny Novgorod shows a gruesome tableau of what looks like dolls – dressed in bright dresses and headscarves, some with their hands and faces appearing to be wrapped in cloth. Police said they were mummified remains.

Police refused to name the suspect arrested last week, but released photographs of him, gave his age as 45 and described him as a well-known specialist in the history of the city about 400 kilometers (250 miles) east of Moscow.

Nollywood diva Uche Jombo was the cynosure of all eyes on Thursday,November 3,2011 at Surulere branch of Intercontinental Bank.

We gathered that Uche was shouting and screaming at the top of her voice that she wants to close her four accounts and wants to be paid for damages.She raised her voice so loud that everyone's mouth were wide open.

According to sources,Uche decided to close these accounts because of bad service with her visa card.

We learnt that she was recently in the States to shoot the concluding part of the Damage trilogy and ran out of cash because the bank messed up her forex account

Policemen beat up Army captain, wife at checkpoint

                                           
Some policemen on duty during the Eid-el Kabir have beaten up a Nigerian Army Captain while his seven months pregnant wife was similarly manhandled and allegedly called her a ‘prostitute.’

The incident which caused panic and anger happened at the popular Gidan Mai Roundabout on Sunday at about 7 pm, throwing the entire area into confusion. A relative of the victims said the Captain who was in mufti and in company with his wife in his car reached the police checkpoint and was ordered by the policemen on duty to open his boot for checking just like other motorists. The relative said further that the captain who was stopped by the policemen and demanded for his vehicle particulars tried to explain to them that he was an officer in the Nigeria army.

Condition of stabbed student worsens, admitted at UNTH

                                                  


Miss Goodness Moses, a victim of violence against women, has finally found her way back to the hospital, this time, the University of Nigeria Teaching Hospital (UNTH), Enugu State.

And the news about the medical report is anything but cheering. Consequently, doctors at the UNTH have advised her to go back to the Eye Foundation, Ikeja, Lagos, where her eyes were earlier operated on, after a Lagos-based businessman, Nwzie Uzoma, allegedly stabbed the eyes and hit her jaws with an object.

Rap legend Heavy D dies at age 44

                                                         

Heavy D, leader of seminal hip-hop group Heavy D & the Boyz and the voice behind such key rise-of-a-genre tracks as “Now That We Found Love,” “Who’s the Man,” and “Somebody For Me,” as well as the iconic theme song to In Living Color, has passed away at the age of 44.

TMZ is reporting that the rapper was rushed to a hospital in Los Angeles after being found unconscious, and passed away shortly after his arrival. No foul play is suspected, though his cause of death is currently unknown.

Five die in cultists’ clash in Bayelsa State

The seeming lull in the cult violence in Bayelsa State gave way, on Sunday night, as five persons were shot death in a renewed hostilities among warring cult groups in Yenagoa, the Newspaper sources investigation has revealed.

Fear gripped residents of Edepie suburb, where the killings occurred around 8.15 p.m, as they scampered for safety when the assailants shot sporadically into different directions, after they had allegedly succeeded in gunning down their victim, who was said to be cooling off in a pub.
