 Dr. Dre’s Beats by Dre has landed in Lower Manhattan, opening what is the first ever Beats by Dr. Dre store. The store opened last night on 67 Greene Street, with several major industry players were in attendance including, Jimmy Iovine, Dr. Dre, Will.i.am and Luke Wood. The pop up store, which will be serving the needs of music enthusiasts from Nov. 3rd to Jan. 15th is nestled amongst the fashion district’s sheik stores and yet rustic environment.

As Nigerians prepare to join other Muslims faithful across the world to celebrate the Eid-el filtr, three suspected Boko Haram suicide bombers in a black Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV)Jeep, yesterday, in Maiduguri, the Borno state capital, attacked and bombed some parts of the Joint Task Force (JTF) Headquarters in Pompomari ward of the metropolis, destroying part of the buildings of the military installations at about 1.20pm.

Two other blasts went off simultaneously at the State Security Services (SSS) headquarters by 1.30pm in Bulunkutu ward, wounding six other civilians near the El-Kanemi Theological College, Maiduguri and a soldier.

FG Urged To Ban Importation Of Toothpick

An industrialist, Mr Paul Okpue, has called on the Federal Government to ban the importation of toothpick to encourage local production of the product.
Okpue, the Chairman of Panicenduweli Nigeria Limited, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Abuja that the ban would make prospective industrialists to venture into the manufacturing of the product.
NAN reports that Panicenduweli is the only indigenous company in the country that produces bamboo toothpick, and bamboo flooring.

Police arrest bomb makers, Recover bombs and guns

A major disaster in Maiduguri, Borno State capital, was on Wednesday foiled by the police, as the dreaded Islamic sect, Boko Haram, had planned to present cleverly wrapped bombs as Sallah gifts to some individuals in the state. The state Commissioner of Police, Mr Simeon Midenda, said on Wednesday that the command had arrested a 23-year-old member of the sect, Sheriff Shettima, who was the arrowhead of the plans. Shettima, the police boss said, was trained in bomb making and had led some major operations of the sect in the past. Addressing newsmen, Mr Midenda said that Shettima was arrested in his house in Maiduguri metropolis, where explosives, guns and ammunition, which he confessed were initially prepared to bomb the headquarters of Borno State police command, were recovered.

Police kill 1, arrest 8 robbery suspects in Ebonyi

ABAKALIKI-EBONYI State Police Command, Wednesday, killed one suspected armed robber, while eight others were arrested during a shootout with the bandits at Oriuzor, Ezza North local government area of the state.
